Biodegradable pellets are available and are often extended for outdoor use, if no option is required. The pellets are a traditional clean environment - most pads are coated on a walk or a mineral oil center of non-biodegradable plastic, ensuring they remain in the environment for hundreds of years, if not collected. I do not know what airsoft speak the habit, because it is not so long. They think plain ol 'air-guns, resulting in the use bb, but they are nothing like airsoft guns. Airsoft uses plastic pellets, yes. BIOVAL or G & G is a good brand, look to be biodegradable BB. I suggest you BB for the same color as the floor, where you play that are not visible when you are finished.
